Tools of the Trade Specialty Seminar

Focus: Agriculture, Physical Plant Operations, Year-Round Facility Usage

The room cost will be $129 per night.

Regular registration prices is $300 until March 24. Beginning March 26 the registration will be $375. Attendees can also register as a combination for the Seminar and the Zone 3 & 6 meeting to save $40 per registration. The cost for the combo is $440 (before March 16) and $555 (March 16 and later).

Fair Oaks Farm is the #1 agri-tourism destination in the Midwest, and you get a chance to experience it at the Tools of the Trade Seminar. The tour will be held the day before the seminar on April 15, and will include companions from IAFE Zones 3 and 6. During the bus trip, Indiana State Fair ag education staff will offer short presentations on the bus ride to the farm. Don't miss out on this opportunity!

To attend the Fair Oaks Farm tour, the additional cost is $75 (before March 16) and $100 (March 16 and later). This is an add on to the Seminar only event. If attendees register to attend the Combo event, the farm tour is included.

The Specialty Seminars feature a different focus in a three-year rotation. This event is perfect for the "specialist" at your fair, be it staff or volunteer, working in one of these three areas:

  • 2020 - Impact and Impressions - sponsorship and advertising/PR. Stay up to speed with this fast‐paced seminar focusing on marketing the fair and maximizing sponsorships.

  • 2021 - Trade, Treats, Traditions - concessions, commercial exhibits & competitive exhibits. Share ideas on best practices in booth layout, exhibitor selection, rules and management of the vendors. Learn about the latest in food trends. Get creative with new contests display techniques for things like quilts, photos, arts & crafts.

  • 2022 - Tools of the Trade - agriculture, physical plant operations, and year-round facility usage. Designed for agricultural program and livestock show personnel as well as maintenance and operations staff. Features in‐depth discussions, presentations and networking galore.
