The conference kicks off with a reception at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, April 25, 2017. It will include 2 ½ full days of programming, ending by noon on Friday, April 28, 2017. The Spokane County Interstate Fair will be our host for this event, including a tour and dinner at their fairgrounds.
We have a room block reserved at the Davenport Grand Hotel. Room Rates are $129 in the block. A link to make room reservations is included in the confirmation e-mail you will receive once you register for the Management Conference.
Extend your trip! Consider extending your trip on either side to visit Coeur d' Alene, Idaho - just 30 minutes away, or take a drive to the scenic Palouse. You might even think about flying in and out of Seattle (about 4 1/2 hour drive) in order to visit other parts of Washington, Oregon or British Columbia with links to some tourist sites.
There are numerous travel options to choose from if you choose to fly into Seattle. You can arrive a few days early to take in the Washington State Spring Fair in Puyallup, held April 20-23. From there you can go to Snoqualmie Falls, then take Blewit Pass to charming Leavenworth or you can go from Puyallup to Naches via scenic Highway 410 (if the pass is open). If you skip the fair altogether, the direct drive from Seattle to Spokane is lined with natural wonders including Snoqualmie Falls, the Ginko Petrified Forest, Frenchman Coulee, and much more! Flights into Portland will feature a drive east along the Columbia River. No matter which option you choose, you can’t lose!
Designed for upper level management staff, this program is only open to fair members. There is not a separate spouse registration or a registration for the fair trip only. Program highlights include presentation of new CFEs, workshops and keynote speakers, committee meetings, a facility tour, and ample time for networking.
Interested in attending? Here's what past attendees have said...
"This was my first experience at a Manager's Conference. All I can say is 'Wow.' What an experience and education. The IAFE always does a tremendous job in selecting programs for learning. The best part is, it is so beneficial in every aspect of your life. I volunteer about 30 hours a week year round at our fairgrounds because we are a year-round facility. I am also a business owner that sells over $20,000,000 in product yearly. I can tell you that everything that was presented at the Manager's Conference is very useful in that organization also. It was truly a WOW experience."
Jo Beal, Sioux Empire Fair
"As a first time attendee, I found the Management Conference to be a very good experience. It's an opportunity to meet with your peers, share ideas, and learn from them. The speakers, whorkshops, and networking make it well worth the investment. I would encourage anyone that has the chance to attend, to do so."
Jamie Blum, Dubuque County Fair
"This year's conference challenged each participant to 'get out of their comfort zone.' The programming was outstanding. It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to see production agriculture in action as part of the meeting. This was truly IAFE 'The Network' in action."
Herb Higgs, Panhandle-South Plains Fair
