The Annual Convention and Trade Show, is the largest event serving fairs, shows, exhibitions, and expositions. Convention attendees network and learn from each other and top professionals during the intensive five days of workshops, special seminars, round table discussions, and social events.

Those who attend our convention can also take home a very important item--a USB flash drive (compliments of the North Carolina State Fair) that contains most of the winning documents from our annual contest program (see below). These are the best ideas in the fair industry, from advertising to agriculture to competitive exhibits to sponsorship.

Receive a bi-monthly IAFE e-newsletter with the latest information about fair news and upcoming IAFE events.
The IAFE understands you might not have the time to monitor industry news constantly. However, today's instantaneous news cycle means that "news" at one fair can have dramatic impact on another – across the country, around the world. That's why we've developed a system called PAS (Personalized Alert System) that you may optionally subscribe to. Let the IAFE PAS system be your "pass" to quick information, right when you need it! Build relationships that make your job easier and your event the best. A variety of professional improvement opportunities will connect you to fair professionals and volunteers, including the annual management conference, special seminars, the Institute of Fair Management Summit, zone conferences, and state/provincial meetings.
Other educational opportunities include the Institute of Fair Management and CyberSeminars. The Institute enhances the professional development of the employees and volunteers of our members by providing education and training in core competency--management, marketing, risk management, programming, operations, and facility usage--necessary for the operations of today's fairs, large or small. The IAFE CyberSeminars are webinars – interactive presentations viewed on the Internet while simultaneously listening in on a conference phone call or your computer's VoIP.
Published six times a year, Fairs & Expos is THE source for information about trends, innovative ideas, and association activities. The magazine can be read online in a digital format at any time--a great way to share the valuable information with all board members, staff, and/or volunteers. You will also receive a complimentary copy of the Annual Directory with lists of dates, attendance, and much more about each fair member.
The International Association of Fairs and Expositions annually awards excellence in fair programming through four educational contests. The Annual IAFE Awards contests are divided into various areas of fair programming including: Agriculture, Competitive Exhibits, Communications, and Sponsorship. These educational contests allow fair members to submit award winning ideas and programs into categories within each contest. Examples include: advertising posters, radio/TV spots, agriculture education programs, competitive exhibit display methods, and photos. Individual recognition awards include the Rising Star, the Hall of Fame award, and the Heritage awards.
Full-time staff members who are with an IAFE member fair can receive the prestigious Certified Fair Executive designation. The CFE recognizes excellence in the fair management field. CFE's are chosen based upon an extensive review and application process.
The Awards contests must be submitted through the IAFE site www.iafecontest.com, where you may keep track of the entries you have uploaded and see judges' comments. If you are entering for the first time, you must create a new user account. For more information, please view this page or watch this video:
