Kansas Fairs and Festivals Association Holds Annual Convention
The Kansa Fairs and Festivals Association held its annual convention on Jan. 4-6, 2008, at Ramada Inn in Topeka. Attendance to the meeting increased 30% from the previous year and membership also increased.
Barney Cosner of the Nebraska State Fair was the keynote speaker. The convention featured panel discussions, round tables, and workshops. Workshop topics included “E.Coli in Food,” “Livestock Auctions,” and “Security at the Fair.” Attendees enjoyed entertainment from a local drumline. Ice cream was offered before the convention ended on Sunday morning. A local television station featured the convention on the 10:00 broadcast.
According to Executive Secretary/Treasurer Ruth Hadle, Board Director John Reznecik passed away shortly after the convention. Reznecik was a past president of the association and chaired the by-laws committee for several years. |
