Ovations Food Services Named Food Service Provider for New JQH Arena

Ovations Food Services, a division of Comcast-Spectacor, Philadelphia, Pa., was recently selected to provide food service at the JQH Arena on the campus of Missouri State University in Springfield, Mo. Ovations is a specialist in food and beverage catering for public assembly facilities.

“Ovations was chosen because of their creative approach to food service and their partnership approach to delivering a team spirit experience through their food service,” stated Randy Blackwood, executive director of athletics and entertainment facilities at Missouri State University.

The agreement, which will begin in June of 2008, includes Ovations Food Services providing all food and concession services to the University’s sports and entertainment facilities, including Plaster Sports Complex, Hammons Student Center, and the Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts.

“Ovations plans to serve freshly prepared menu items through our team-inspired concept that honors the Missouri State Bears fighting spirit and pride with a branded Da’ Bears Grill, a tribute to team achievement,” said Ovations Food Services President Ken Young. Ovations plans to work with local merchants to explore opportunities to deliver more local flavor through its menu line-up.

Comcast-Spectacor is the principal owner of Global Spectrum, the fastest growing firm in the public assembly management field with more than 65 facilities throughout the United States and Canada.
