Nevada County Fair Names New CEO
The Nevada County Fair, Grass Valley, Calif., recently announced the appointment of Sandy Woods to the position of Chief Executive Officer. She will take over for Ed Scofield, who announced that he will retire, effective Dec. 31, 2008.
Ms. Woods has served as deputy manager of the 17th District Agricultural Association since 1995. She has worked with Scofield for the past 13 years and is involved in all aspects of the fairground’s operations including financial management, marketing, employee relations, facility management, and contracting. She is currently responsible for the production of the Nevada County Fair, the Draft Horse Classic, and the Country Christmas Faire.
Ms. Woods has served as a member of the board of directors of the Western Fairs Association since 2005. She is also the director of the Nevada County Fairgrounds Foundation, the California Fairs Alliance, and a member of the Foothill Lions Club.
Scofield is retiring from his position after more than 25 years with the 17th District Agricultural Association. |
