2008 Impact & Impressions Seminar Features Unconventional Training

A record 111 delegates representing 73 different fairs and companies from 33 states and provinces networked last week at the IAFE Marketing and Sponsorship Seminar in St. Louis. 

Workshops included three Institute of Fair Management courses.  Anther workshop featured students from St. Louis University who spent the afternoon as a focus group answering questions.  Their answers exposed attendees to advertising concepts such as “street teams,” FaceBook event pages, “Guitar Hero” contests and more. 

A workshop titled “Dazed & Confused About Using Social Media for Marketing” featured two computers and projectors and some attendees with laptops who explored on-line options in a open sharing, real time environment.  Some even set up new FaceBook pages for their fairs.

The St. Louis community offered extensive resources for our attendees.  Representatives from Monsanto, St. Louis Rams Football, St. Louis Earth Day Festival, St, Louis Zoo, and the Taste of St Louis and others shared their expertise.  A top-executive led tour of the St. Louis Six Flags facility, under warm sunny skies added a refreshing touch to the classroom sessions.
