Commonwealth Agricultural Conference

The Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth warmly welcomed the representatives of the IAFE who attended the 24th Commonwealth Agricultural Conference held in Edinburgh, Scotland in conjunction with the Royal Highland Show, the national show of Scotland. Attending from the IAFE were First Vice-Chair, Jim Sinclair and his wife, Judy Sinclair; YPI Co-Chairs Jessica Underberg and Jennifer Giesike; IAFE Board Member-at-Large, Charlie Smith and his wife Marie Smith; and IAFE President and CEO Jim Tucker and his wife Nancy Tucker.

Tucker made a presentation to the Show Executives titled "Marketing To Attract Show Guests," during which he set out the mission and history of the IAFE, a summary of its membership, and the missions of and the approaches of North American IAFE member fairs to attracting fairgoers. He highlighted the networking and meeting activities of the IAFE, including the Communications, Agriculture, and Competitive Exhibits Contests. He showed advertisements from the IAFE Communications Contests. The attendees responded very positively to the presentation with several Show CEOs expressing a keen interest in attending the 2010 International Convention in Las Vegas.
