"I have been forever in getting back to you about how truly amazing the YPI is! Period! Although I am not new to the fair industry, I am new as a board member ( I am fresh into my second year serving on my board). Being as young as I am for a fairboard member I have often worried that I would feel "out of my league" outside of my welcoming hometown and amazingly open board. I know how hard it has been for young professionals to find a home on a fairboard for each and every reason we have discussed in our YPI gatherings. Needless to say, I was excited, but also a bit nervous to attend last year's convention not only because it was my first time attending, but also because I didn't know anyone! The very strategically placed Monday "Under 40 Networking" group had been highlighted in my program and I was eager to attend to meet peers close to my age and really begin to establish quality working relationships. It was that and so much more. The energy and warmth emmitted from that dynamic little gathering was only a spark of what was (and still is) to come! Little did we all know that the YPI was born then and there! I cannot say enough about the core 12 whom have founded this amazing group and the genuine passion to make a difference. I am moved beyond words for what this initiative has done for me at its very onset and for the potential it has for the next generation of leaders in our industry. I truly believe that the IAFE's YPI and all we aim to accomplish will revoltionize the potential for developing and connecting our young leaders (the next generation)."
