Jason Young To Keynote Wednesday's General Session
Jason Young will be the keynote speaker at the Wednesday general session of the 2010 IAFE Annual Convention, held Nov. 29-Dec. 2, in Las Vegas, Nevada.Young's address is titled "Lead Smart -- High Performance Leadership." He describes leaders as people that develop, motivate, and empower people to achieve extraordinary results, while providing vision and guidance throughout the entire process. Truly smart leaders know this is a personal and professional challenge to be met everyday. They'll know what to do to achieve the organization's success. Young will present a new definition of becoming a person of influence and how that applies to everyone in an organization. He notes that organizing talent to build effective teams creates an incredible workplace culture and applying successful coaching skills will help teams excel.
Young is a former senior-level manager with Southwest Airlines, who, during his 10 years with the airline, helped manage a successful workplace culture that has consistently been rated number one in customer service and employee satisfaction. He was key in developing the company's training program for successful leaders and customer service. Young launched his own consulting practice, LeadSmart, Inc., in 1998 to focus on corporate training and development services specializing in leadership, customer service, and team building. He has shared his vision of successful corporate cultures with Starbucks, Coca-Cola, Radio Shack, Tyson Foods, and more. Young's latest book title Culturetopia: The ultimate high-performance workplace provides an innovative perspective on how to create and sustain a high-performance workplace where people can do their best work. He provides practical, easy to implement guidance to the seven key determinants that make a healthy, productive, and profitable culture of any team or organization.
"Jason's motivational style was entertaining as well as educational. The group left the meeting fully energized and excited to be providing the leadership that will create an associate-driven, high-performing, customer focused environment," stated John Jeter M.D., president and CEO of Hays Medical Group.
Young's keynote presentation is designed to reinforce the concepts and skills geared to increase learning and assist in the transition from meeting room to workplace. The result is an inspirational encounter that will resonate long after the presentation is over.
Bruce Vincent to Deliver IAFE Convention Closing Keynote Address
Bruce Vincent will be the keynote speaker at the closing session of the 2010 IAFE Annual Convention, held Nov. 29-Dec. 2, at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.Vincent's presentation will be titled "It's Not Just the Pigs, It's the People." Fairs and expos provide an opportunity to introduce the public to agriculture and the animals they have already grown to love, through media like the Disney Channel. But since fairs only operate with the consent of the public, they must use these opportunities to re-introduce the public to the real experts in animal care and environmental protection: the people and the cultures of animal and agricultural production.
Vincent is a third generation logger and has helped form, and is currently serving as president, of Communities For A Great Northwest, a non-profit education and information group dedicated to the intelligent use of natural resources. One of the group’s most noted activities is The Great Northwest Log Haul, which helped focus national attention on resource supply problems in the Northwest. Vincent also serves as a partner in the public relations firm ENVIRONOMICS, as executive director of the Provider Pals™ cultural exchange program, as a member of the board of the Evergreen Foundation, as a board member of the Pacific Logging Congress, and as a member of the Kootenai Forest Resource Advisory Committee. He speaks throughout the United States and abroad to various interest groups and legislative bodies on rural cultures and is a highlighted national university campus speaker for the Young America Foundation. He has testified before Congress on resource issues and has been featured on numerous news programs, such as "60 Minutes." Vincent has been named Timberman of the Year in Montana, been awarded the National Forest Activist of the Year, and received the inaugural Presidential Preserve America Award in 2004. Vincent was a highlighted "hero" in William Perry Pendley's book It Takes a Hero.
"An inspired leader with a powerful message that clearly imparts inspiration to others! Bruce was a great fit to our natural resource seminar, and an even better fit to what our rural leadership program is all about," stated Everett Rhodes, director of Project CENTRL.
